There are few things more frustrating for Ireland than a disappointing World T25 campaign and the Irish have yet to qualify for the 2019 tournament in Russia.
However, the team have made it clear that they will take their chances with the World Cricket League and are ready to move on from the World Cup, with a number of international players having been contracted to the Irish.
Former Ireland international Shane Warne has been confirmed to play in the 2019 World Cup and has indicated he will be playing in that tournament with Ireland.
Meanwhile, there are still several international players who have expressed interest in playing in 2019.
Cameron Bancroft has been linked with a move to the English Premier League and is yet to be confirmed for the tournament in England.
England Under-20 captain Chris Woakes, who was in the Ireland squad for the World Twenty20 in 2018, has also expressed an interest in representing his country.
While England could be the obvious destination for Bancrotts, his availability for the 2018 World T21 is unclear.
It is thought that there will be a few international players at the 2018 ICC World Cup who will be interested in playing for Ireland in 2019 and will want to play their part in a successful tournament.
