Alyssas Bynes, a rising sophomore at Purdue, died on Monday, just days after she was arrested in the fatal shooting of her brother, Matthew, at his home in St. Charles County, officials said.
Bynes, 21, was charged with first-degree murder and her preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday.
She was arrested after Matthew Bynes was shot in the head, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
Matthew was the third person killed in the home invasion and his body was found outside the home.
Authorities say Matthew was a “family man” who loved basketball and his family.
The family had recently moved to Indiana from Missouri when they were teenagers.
He had recently been offered a scholarship to Indiana University.
