Northwest University volleyball players will compete on Saturday at the University of North Dakota (UND) as the Wildcats look to snap a four-game losing streak.UND (10-3, 7-3) is tied with the University for second place in the WCHA standings with a 13-0-2 record.
The Wildcats also have three wins over the top-ranked Pioneers.UNE’s game against Northwestern (7-6, 3-6) will be the Wildcats first game at the new $10.5 million Skyline Stadium in Fargo since the Pioneers’ first visit in 2014.
The Wildcats won the first meeting at the Skyline, defeating the Wildcats 84-68 on Jan. 26, 2019.UNI has won nine straight games, including four straight at home, dating back to Nov. 22, 2018.UNO’s game will be played at the Fargo Civic Auditorium.
The stadium opened to the public last year and has a capacity of 2,500.UNU will face UMN in the NCAA tournament’s fourth round on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m.
The Pioneers won the conference championship, beating Minnesota 86-70 in the semifinals.
The Pioneers will have three games left to play before facing Minnesota in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The tournament will air on ESPNU from Dec. 4-6.UNRU will have its first road game since March 15, 2019, as the Pioneer beat the Wildcats 80-71 in the first round of their NCAA Tournament debut on Thursday, Feb. 3.
The Bulldogs will have two games left before facing UNT, Dec, 6, in the third round of this year’s tournament.UNT is in the middle of a four game losing streak, and will play the second of its four games in front of a crowd of 11,946 at UNRU Stadium.UNTS opponent, Northern Illinois, is in a four games with two wins.UNIT is playing the first game of its season against the Broncos, who defeated UNT 75-53 on Saturday.
